Open Question: I don't know anything about cars?

I have a boyfriend and he knows a lot about cars. I know absolutely nothing. Can someone like write some things you know basic knowledge things about cars. Like I know how to distinguish between a Ford, Chevy, Dodge and all those things by their symbol. But whats the big deal about a Ferrari or a Porsche? Ok, I made it seem like I wanted to impress my boyfriend with my car knowledge. I don't, well not really. I'd just like to show interest in it just a little bit since he likes it a lot.
